Public Candle-Making Workshops in Vancouver

Small-group candle workshops at Bentall Centre, designed for beginners and candle lovers who want a relaxed, creative night out and a beautiful handmade candle (or two) to take home. Every session is beginner-friendly, kept deliberately small, and runs about two hours.

What happens in our workshops

A relaxed, guided candle-making experience. Every session begins with a warm welcome, light snacks and beverages, and time to explore our scent library. From there, our team guides you step-by-step through the fundamentals — no experience needed.

  1. Warm welcome. Light snacks and beverages while you settle in and explore the scent library.
  2. Guided blending. Choose fragrance blends and learn safe, professional pouring techniques with our team.
  3. Craft your candle. Leave with your own custom-scented candle (or two, depending on the format) and the confidence to keep experimenting at home.
  4. Small & guided. Every class is beginner-friendly and kept deliberately small, so you get plenty of guidance and time to ask questions.

Original Candle-Making Workshop

Core techniques, scent blending and candle-making basics. Take home your own handcrafted candle with a hidden message inside and a custom-designed lid and label.

Seasonal Workshop

Changes from season to season. Make two 3.5oz candles with two vessel colour options, plus custom labels and lids.

Cocktail-Themed Candle Workshop

Alcohol-inspired fragrances and a playful, evening feel. Take home a custom drinks-themed candle and a keepsake whiskey glass.

Tea-Themed Candle Workshop

Tea-inspired blends and a calm, ritual-focused vibe. Make tea-inspired candles with a curated scent profile designed around tea notes, presented in a tea pot — and take home three tea cups.

Raincouver® Themed Candle Workshop

Vancouver-inspired scents — a perfect indoor activity during the rainy season. Take home a one-of-a-kind Raincouver® candle in a custom sippy cup.

Sachet-Making Workshop

Blending dried herbs and botanicals for aromatic sachets. Take home custom-blended herbal sachets in reusable muslin bags, plus dried flowers and plants.

Solid Perfume-Making Workshop

Creating concentrated fragrance in sustainable solid form. Take home a solid perfume in a refillable hard case.

First-timers welcome

Curious about candle making but not sure where to start? Every class is beginner-friendly.

Good to know

  • 15% off retail. Workshop guests get 15% off Ollie & Co. products in the retail space, right on-site.
  • Minimum six participants. If a session doesn't meet the minimum, small groups may be combined or the date rescheduled — attendees are always contacted in advance.
  • Private & corporate. For larger private groups, team building or corporate events, we adapt these formats into tailored sessions, booked separately.
  • Mobile workshops. We can also bring the workshop to you.
